Wikipedia classes the Religious Zionist Party as far-right and religious Zionist, and Zehut as right-libertarian and nationalist. The Religious Zionist Party holds 7 Knesset seats. It is the Religious Zionist Party–Zehut list in the 2026 Knesset election of 27 October 2026.
History
The Religious Zionist Party was founded in 1998 by Hanan Porat and Zvi Hendel, ran mostly in alliances, took its present name in January 2021 and won 7 seats of a 14-seat joint list in 2022 under Bezalel Smotrich, leader since 2019. Zehut was founded in 2015 by Moshe Feiglin after leaving Likud. It won about 2.7% in April 2019, missing the threshold, and withdrew from the September 2019 election. Feiglin rejoined Likud in 2021, left in January 2024 and re-established the party. The two signed a technical bloc on 1 September 2026.
Positions
Wikipedia describes the Religious Zionist Party as religious conservative and ultranationalist, opposed to territorial concessions and to recognizing same-sex marriage, and in favour of more funding for religious education. Zehut is described there as right-libertarian, favouring a flat tax, cannabis legalization, school vouchers, smaller government, sovereignty over the Land of Israel including annexation of the West Bank, and a professional volunteer army.
