Career
Turcan studied international economic relations at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, graduating in 1999, and took a master's degree in political marketing in 2006. She worked as a parliamentary expert in the Senate from 2000 to 2004 and taught at universities in Brașov and Sibiu. Elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2004, she was acting president of the PNL in 2016 and 2017, Deputy Prime Minister from November 2019 to December 2020, Minister of Labour and Social Protection until November 2021, and Minister of Culture from June 2023 to December 2024. She began in the Democratic Liberal Party and the Liberal Democratic Party before joining the PNL.
