Positions

As Prime Minister, Bolojan pursued fiscal consolidation: Wikipedia records a VAT rise from 19% to 21%, cuts in the public sector and an attempted reform of judicial pensions, which courts struck down. His government lost a no-confidence vote on 5 May 2026, 281 votes to 4, after the PSD left the coalition over austerity; Balkan Insight says the motion was tabled by PSD and AUR. In September 2026 a news agency reported he was open to early elections if needed.
