Career
Motreanu graduated in philosophy and history from the West University of Timișoara in 1995 and later studied at Babeș-Bolyai University and the National Defence College. He worked as a teacher and as a journalist at the news agency Mediafax. He joined the PNL in 1990 and sat in the Chamber of Deputies from 2004 to 2016, serving as vice-president of the chamber. He was Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development from December 2006 to April 2007. He became a Member of the European Parliament in July 2019 and was re-elected in 2024, sitting on the regional development and the environment and public health committees.
