Career

Komšić graduated in law at Sarajevo in 1988. He chaired the Sarajevo City Council from 1998 to 2000, was mayor of Novo Sarajevo in 2000-2001 and 2004-2006, and was ambassador to FR Yugoslavia in 2000-2002. He held the Croat Presidency seat from 2006 to 2014, winning with 39.6% in 2006 and 60.6% in 2010, sat in the House of Representatives from 2014 to 2018 and won again with 52.6% in 2018 and 55.8% in 2022. He left the Social Democratic Party and has led the Democratic Front since 2013.
