Career
Krišto, born Borjana Krželj in Livno, took a law degree at the University of Banja Luka in 1984. She joined HDZ BiH in 1995, has sat on its presidency since 2001 and has been a deputy party president since 2007. She was Federal Minister of Justice from 2003 to 2007 and President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2007 to 2011, the first woman in that post. She was a member of the House of Peoples from 2011 to 2014 and of the House of Representatives from 2014 to 2022. In January 2023 she became Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, leading a coalition formed after the 2022 election.
