She was Minister of Security under Mauricio Macri from 2015 to 2019 and under Javier Milei from 2023 to 2025, and finished third in the 2023 presidential election. She is named among the possible contenders in the 2027 Argentine presidential election, to be held on 24 October 2027.
Career
Born on 11 June 1956, Bullrich joined the Peronist Youth at 17 and went into exile in 1977, returning after the 1982 Falklands defeat. She was a national deputy for the Justicialist Party from 1993 to 1997 and held labour and social security portfolios under Fernando de la Rúa from 1999 to 2001. She served as Minister of Security twice, under Macri from 2015 to 2019 and under Milei from 2023 to 2025. In 2023 she won her coalition's primary over Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, took about 24% in the general election to finish third, and endorsed Milei in the runoff.
Positions
Wikipedia describes her stance as conservative and right-wing, centred on law and order. As security minister under Macri she applied protocols against road blockades by piquetero groups and took a hard line on Mapuche activist groups; under Milei she launched Plan Bandera against drug trafficking in Rosario and curtailed welfare distribution to piquetero groups.
