Career

Born on 25 September 1971 in Buenos Aires, Kicillof was an economist and university professor from 1998 to 2010. He was general manager of Aerolíneas Argentinas in 2009 and 2010, played a leading part in the 2012 renationalisation of the oil company YPF, and was Minister of Economy under Cristina Fernández de Kirchner from 2013 to 2015, then a national deputy until 2019. He joined the Justicialist Party in 2021 after the Front for Victory. He won the governorship of Buenos Aires Province with 52.15% in 2019 and was re-elected with 44.8% in 2023.
