Kennedy is a Republican, having been a Democrat until 2007. Wikipedia records that he objected to Arizona's electoral certification on 6 January 2021, and that his questioning of judicial nominees contributed to the withdrawal of three nominees of President Trump. On a 2028 run, he is quoted saying he is happy as a senator and plans to run for re-election.
