The electoral commission lists her as a specialist physician and associate professor; no party membership is reported. She was 10th on the list Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia, which came second in the Serbian parliamentary election of 25 October 2026.

Career

Jovanović graduated from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Medicine in 1991 and specialised there in social medicine in 2001; on an Italian government scholarship she completed a master's in health-care management in Rome in 2003. She has been a primarius since 2013, took her doctorate in Kragujevac in 2017 with a thesis on medical waste management, and has taught at Singidunum University's Faculty of Health and Business Studies. At Batut she also headed the cancer screening office, and the government named her to its COVID-19 crisis staff. At the institute's centenary in 2024 she presented President Aleksandar Vučić with a plaque for an "exceptional contribution to improving public health", N1 recalled in 2026, calling her the highest-placed physician on the SNS-led list. In May 2026 she told RTS that the hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship carried no risk of a new pandemic.

Controversies

In June 2020 the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) reported that the state's COVID-19 information system recorded 632 deaths of patients who had tested positive between 19 March and 1 June 2020, against 244 announced officially. Batut's reply to BIRN's freedom-of-information request, signed by Jovanović as acting director, gave the official figure of 244, and according to BIRN she declined to answer its questions about the difference.
