He became known in April 2025, when he was removed as a faculty tutor after speaking at a student protest. He was fourth on the Student List – Students Win, which won the most votes in the Serbian parliamentary election of 25 October 2026.

Career

Cvetković graduated in medicine in Kragujevac in 2004, specialised in general surgery at the University of Belgrade and took a doctorate in clinical and experimental surgery at the Kragujevac Faculty of Medical Sciences, where he is an associate professor. He has trained further in hernia repair and laparoscopic surgery; the movement's page cites twenty years of clinical, teaching and research work in surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques. He has taken part in science ministry projects and belongs to the European and Serbian pancreatic clubs and the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery.

Positions

In an October 2026 interview with Danas, Cvetković said he had lived in political apathy for years until the student movement. He called health care a state priority and proposed a ten-year plan for development, investment and training, a larger health budget, an end to party-based hiring, payment of doctors by performance and better pay to keep medical staff in Serbia. He blamed waiting lists on poor organisation and said that while national stadiums and Expo were being built, sick children's treatment was still funded by text-message appeals. He said he had no personal ambition to become health minister and wanted to "depersonalise" politics, and he urged campaigners not to respond to provocations.

Controversies

On 22 April 2025 he spoke, with colleague Vladimir Zdravković, at a seven-hour protest by students of the Kragujevac Faculty of Medical Sciences against the introduction of online teaching, asking what could be expected from a state that declares students its enemies and saying the same people who had drawn Serbia into war in the 1990s were in power again. The faculty's management then removed him as a student tutor, which the students called a punishment for telling the truth. On 25 April health workers formed a human chain in his support outside the clinical centre (N1). He told Danas the dismissal had done him little professional or material harm.
