It describes itself as officially secular and follows Nasserism and pan-Arabism. Wikipedia places it in the March 8 Alliance, close to Syria, and it holds one of the 128 parliamentary seats. It is named in the market for the most seats in the 2026 Lebanese parliamentary election.
History
The party began in the 1960s as Resurrect the Revolution and took its present name in 1990. Abdelrahim Mourad held the West Bekaa-Rashaya Sunni seat from 1992 to 2009 and again from 2018 to 2022. After the 2022 general election his son Hasan Mrad succeeded him in the seat, which is the party's one seat in parliament.
Positions
Wikipedia gives the party's ideology as Nasserism and pan-Arabism within a secular outlook, inside Lebanon's confessional political system. It says the party has strong ties with Syria, belongs to the March 8 Alliance and has been backed by Iran and Syria, and earlier by Qatar.
