Career
Bouamrane has been a municipal councillor in Saint-Ouen since 1995, first as a Communist deputy mayor for youth, sport and economic affairs. He left the Communist Party for the Socialist Party in 2014 and became mayor on 4 July 2020, winning re-election in 2026. In September 2025 he proposed making mayors who do not respect the legal 25% social-housing quota ineligible. On 9 June 2026 he announced his candidacy for the presidency.
