Career

Autain co-founded the feminist organisation Mix-Cité in 1997. She served as a Paris city councillor for the 17th arrondissement and as deputy mayor of Paris for youth affairs from 2001 to 2008. She was a municipal councillor in Sevran from 2014 to 2015 and an Île-de-France regional councillor from 2015 to 2017, and again from 2021. She has been a member of the National Assembly for Seine-Saint-Denis since June 2017. Her party affiliations ran from the Communist Party, which she left in 2008, through Ensemble! and La France Insoumise (2016 to 2024) to L'Après since 2024.
