He sat in the Andean Parliament for Ecuador from 2021 to 2025, elected for the Democratic Left, and now runs under the Futuro movement. He is the Futuro movement's candidate for Mayor of Quito in the 29 November 2026 election.

Career

Before politics, Desamblanc worked in sports and as an artistic producer of electronic music events, then turned to environmental activism, Elyex reports. The National Assembly swore him in as a member of the Andean Parliament on 19 May 2021, and he served until 2025 for the Democratic Left, becoming vice president of the Ecuadorian delegation. He questioned the Andean Community's secretary general about consultancies and their budgets and worked on security and environmental legislation. As a lawyer he represented the Democratic Left's provincial leader in Sucumbíos before the Electoral Disputes Tribunal over a change to the electoral calendar. He later left that party and registered on 17 August 2026 with the National Electoral Council on list 20 of Futuro, one of ten candidates for Quito.
