He was first elected as an independent and has had the backing of the local party Team Bratislava since 2022. He is the incumbent in the 2026 Bratislava mayoral election.
Career
Vallo graduated in engineering from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava in 2004 and held a Fulbright research scholarship at Columbia University in 2010 and 2011. He works as an architect and musician. He was elected mayor of Bratislava in 2018 with 36.5% of the vote, succeeding Ivo Nesrovnal, and re-elected in 2022 with 60.2%, backed by Team Bratislava, Freedom and Solidarity and Progressive Slovakia. In 2026 he is seeking another term.
Positions
Wikipedia describes his term as shaped by a resident parking policy, which he pressed after criticising his predecessor for delaying it, and by a stricter review of development projects. In 2020 the parking launch was postponed to autumn 2021 after the first proposal drew criticism and the yearly card price was cut to €39.
