She has been MLA for Vancouver-Quilchena since 2024, was expelled from the BC Conservative caucus in March 2025 and is interim leader of OneBC. She is named as the OneBC leader in the 24 October 2026 British Columbia general election.
Career
Brodie, born in Vancouver in 1962, studied political science at Princeton University, law at the University of Toronto and broadcast journalism at BCIT. She worked as a CBC producer, criminal defence lawyer and arbitrator at the Residential Tenancy Branch. Elected for Vancouver-Quilchena for the Conservatives in October 2024, she was Official Opposition Attorney General critic until March 2025, then sat as an independent. She co-founded OneBC, registered on 9 June 2025, and is its interim leader.
Positions
OneBC, which Wikipedia places at right-wing to far-right, proposes tax cuts, private health care, immigration limits and defunding what it calls the reconciliation industry, plus ending mail-in and early voting. Brodie sponsored bills to ban land acknowledgements and to restrict gender-affirming care for minors; both were defeated. In 2026 she said she was open to an election deal with the Conservatives.
Controversies
Global News reports she was ejected from the Conservative caucus in March 2025 over comments that then-leader John Rustad said mocked residential school survivors.
