She studied history and civics at the University of Hradec Králové and political science at Palacký University in Olomouc, where she earned a doctorate. At the University of Hradec Králové she headed the political science department (2010-2012), was dean of the Faculty of Philosophy (2012-2019) and pro-rector for strategy and development (2019-2022). She has sat on the Hradec Králové city council since 2014 and in the Královéhradecký regional assembly since 2020. After the October 2022 municipal election, which ANO won, a five-party coalition took 21 of 37 council seats, and the council elected her mayor on 15 November 2022 with 20 votes.
