Embed code

Paste this into your article or page. The script line is optional: it sizes the widget to its content. Without it the widget fills the height you give it.

In WordPress, paste the address of a race page on a line of its own: the widget appears and sizes itself. Pages built with Pym.js can load the widget address with pym.Parent. Other systems can read the widget from our oEmbed endpoint. Widgets are kept out of search engines, so they never compete with your article.

What a market-implied probability is

A figure of 62% means that, when the widget was last updated, prices on prediction markets put the chance of that outcome at 62%. It is not a poll and not our forecast: it is what the people taking part in those markets expect between them, and it moves as soon as news arrives.

It has limits. Markets can be wrong, as polls can. Where few people take part, a single participant can move the figure. The figures of a race do not always add up to exactly 100%. A probability says how likely an outcome is, not by how much a candidate will win. Not every election has a market, and the widgets show only races with enough activity to give a meaningful figure.

That is why every widget says “Market-implied probability” above its figures, and after the vote shows the official result, with the vote shares from Wikipedia as soon as the count is in.

No cookies, no tracking, no consent banner needed

The widget sets no cookies, stores nothing on your readers’ devices and loads nothing from anyone else: every file comes from electiontracker.eu, on a server in the EU. There is nothing for your consent banner to ask about. We keep no logs; we count only how many times each widget is loaded per day and on which website (its domain name, nothing else).
